Papermaking, Printmaking, & Book Arts
I am in my 3rd year of a dual masters program pursing an MFA through the University of Iowa Center for the Book and an MA in the School of Library & Information Sciences. My thesis exhibit will be in February of 2025 and I graduate from the University of Iowa in May of 2025.
What We Have Left is a series of sectional maps that represent the remnant oak savannah in Iowa City’s City Park.
What We Have Left: Leaf (pictured above) uses color tones and forms that abstractly reference oak leaves in the fall.
What We Have Left: Seed (pictured below) uses color tones and forms that abstractly reference acorns in the summer.

I am making an edition of 30 letterpress printed alphabet books titled Kinder Inquiries.
This abecedarian has been a labor of love and I am excited to see it nearing completion.
During my 3rd Semester review in 2024, I put my “paper drawings” on a wall and illuminated some of them from behind with LED lighting. This style of “drawing” is created in flax fiber while the sheet is still forming, so they are low-relief drawings with luminosity when lit from behind. I passed my 3rd semester review and will complete my MFA with University of Iowa Center for the Book in Spring of 2025.
